ByBox is doing the business by night

ByBox, the UK’s largest in-night delivery company, has increased its turnover by 50% to £15m (EUR22m) in the past 12 months following a string of business wins.
New customers include Danka, Bunzl Vending Services, Agfa, Tunstall Telecom and British Gas.

The Coventry-based company, which has locker banks at more than 700 locations across the UK to which access is controlled by a built-in computer, provides logistics services to field engineers.

Chief executive Stuart Miller said: “Recent growth has been fuelled by the increasing awareness among companies that they must invest in a more robust IT infrastructure in their distribution network if they are to maintain their service levels to their end users.” In order to meet demand, ByBox has doubled the size of its Milton Keynes distribution centre, creating an extra 10 jobs in the process.

Changes have also been made in the north-east with the relocation of the region’s distribution centre to Gateshead’s Team Valley trading estate.

“We have locker exchanges located from Darlington to Berwick-upon-Tweed and we need a distribution centre which gave us easy and quick access to the A1(M), ” said Miller.

This makes it ideally positioned for north, south, east and west distribution routes.

Team Valley is perfect.”
