FedEx Express appoints new Senior Manager of Operations

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corporation (NYSE: FDX), the world’s largest express transportation company, has announced today the appointment of Mohamed Al Sayegh as Senior Manager Operations for FedEx Direct served countries, as well as Iraq, Qatar and Oman.

In his new position, Al Sayegh will provide leadership to all customer-facing employees throughout the Middle East organisation. This appointment further strengthens FedEx’s position in the region and confirms the company’s continued commitment to its customers.

Commenting on the appointment, Hamdi Osman, FedEx Vice President for the Middle East, Indian Sub Continent, & Africa, stated, ‘With over 17 years of engineering and operations experience, Mohamed will bring comprehensive international knowledge and strategic expertise to his new regional management role.”

Mohamed started his career with FedEx at the Memphis hub in the United States, moving up the ladder within the US and Asia, before relocating to the Middle East. In 1996, Mohamed moved to Dubai where he has worked as MEIA Global Trade Service (GTS) Manager, spear heading the simplification of regulatory procedures for FedEx throughout the MEIA region. He helped launch the e-Clearance project with Dubai customs, a first for the Middle East. Mohamed was also instrumental in simplifying many customs regulations in India, which greatly improved FedEx’s clearance capabilities in the country.

In appreciation of his contributions, Al Sayegh received the FedEx Five Star award in 2001, the most prestigious recognition within FedEx, along with a variety of other regional and divisional awards.
