Estonian Postal Co signs agreement with Nordic Countries' logistics system
Under an agreement Eesti Post (Estonian Post) and the Danish-Norwegian company Pan Nordic Logistics signed today, Eesti Post’s ELS express delivery service will expand to the Nordic countries, making the forwarding of parcels both faster and cheaper.
The service meant primarily for corporate customers allows to cut the price of forwarding parcels to the Nordic countries by 20-30 percent and should shorten the time of delivery to 1-3 days depending on the area of the destination country, Eesti Post said.
“We are implementing one of our strategic goals, that of expanding our ELS express delivery service to the Nordic market,” CEO Peeter Raudsepp said. The company expects the volume of ELS services to grow more than 30 percent this year.
“As a result of an analogous agreement concluded with Finland last year, parcel flows between Estonia and Finland grew tenfold. PNL is the best possible partner for entering the Nordic market because of its extensive logistics network and a similar profile of corporate clientele,” Raudsepp added.
Postal companies of Finland, Iceland, Faeroe Islands and Sweden have hooked up their networks to PNL’s through similar partnership agreements.
Founded in 1997 and owned by the Danish and Norwegian postal companies, PNL is headquartered in Sweden.
Eesti Post has also announced a procurement tender to find a global strategic partner for express parcel delivery with the aim of providing a higher-quality and faster alternative to the existing Express Mail Service.
