UPS Healthcare: we will be able to classify critical shipments before they leave our customers’ hands

UPS Healthcare has announced the expansion of its UPS Premier service across Europe, marking another step in ongoing service and technology upgrades to meet the evolving needs of critical time-and temperature-sensitive healthcare shipments.

As a technology-enabled express delivery service, UPS Premier upgrades small packages with advanced sensor technology as well as ensuring a priority lane in UPS’s global network. Complete with highly specialized handling and enhanced visibility and control, the next-generation sensor technology can locate packages within 10 feet of their location anywhere in the UPS network.

“From new biologics to implantable medical devices, our customers are innovating like never before and with that comes a need for near-perfect levels of service,” said Monica Alvarado, Europe Marketing Director, UPS Healthcare. “Through this technology-enabled service, we will be able to classify and identify critical healthcare shipments before they leave our customers’ hands, offering them unprecedented control, visibility and reliability across their supply chain.”

Innovations in biologics, specialty pharmaceuticals and personalized medicine are driving significant demand for precision logistics to support more patient-critical, time-and temperature-sensitive products.
