Emirates Post launches 'Direct2Door' parcel service to five Asian countries

The Emirates Post launched ‘Direct2Door’ parcel service to five Asian countries on Sunday.

The service is backed by a money-back guarantee and track-and-trace facility and covers India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal. “We have partnered with reputed courier companies in the five countries to deliver parcels or documents directly to homes and offices,” said Abdullah Al Daboos, Director General of Emirates Post.

The service offers delivery of personal packages of up to 30 kg in less than 10 days. It ensures delivery of documents and parcels in just three days.

Asked whether Emirates Post will refund money if the parcel is misplaced or is late, Al Daboos said they will investigate the matter and identify on which side the fault lies. “If it is with us we will refund the parcel charges,” he said, adding the same goes for the other side.

He said the increase in the number of expatriates from Asian countries has prompted the value-added services. According to him, the new service will help consolidate market share in the field of express parcels and documents.

“We took a little time to launch this particular service because we were trying to find a right partner who believes (in) the money-back guarantee concept. We are also trying our best to extend this service to more countries,” said Daboos. “I am very disappointed for not being able to find partners in the Arab countries. It is very unfortunate. To name a few we have approached Sudan and Egypt. ”

Emirates Post also announced a promotion that entitles all customers to automatically join an electronic draw that offers cash prizes of Dh10,000, Dh5,000 and Dh3,000 every month. The promotions will continue until the end of this year.

Customers can also earn points through the Emirates Post Privilege Card and can redeem them for gifts.
