Jobs for the girls and boys in Paris
FedEx is to create 280 jobs in France as it develops its European air hub at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) to serve new markets such as Eastern Europe, India and Asia.
Since the opening of the hub in 1999 FedEx’s workforce in France has grown by 60% and currently stands at 2,400 staff. This has gone hand-in-hand with annual traffic growth at the hub of 15%.
The integrator is now handling 1,000 tonnes of parcels and documents daily ay CDG and just over 260 FedEx flights operate in and out of the airport each week. The company hired 333 French staff in 2005, having previously boosted staff numbers by 470 during the second half of 2003 and 2004.
