TNT Express receives French Certipharm accreditation

TNT Express – the world’s leading business to business express delivery company – today announced that it is the first and only global transport company operating in France to receive the ‘Certipharm’ accreditation for expertise in the transportation of medical products.

Awarded by the Association Française d’Assurance Qualité (AFAQ), the accreditation recognises the presence of rigorous procedures – including secure storage, safe packaging and clear labelling – to prevent the quality of medical products from being compromised during any stage of the transportation process.

“This accreditation is recognition of TNT’s expertise in the express transportation of pharmaceutical goods and confirms the company’s commitment to the delivery of quality services in the Life Sciences sector,” said Jos Raaymakers, Global Director Life Sciences, TNT Express.

The ‘Certipharm’ accreditation is only awarded when companies comply with the ‘Good Distribution Practices’ set by the AFAQ – which include the prevention of contamination and deterioration of samples, quality control, document control, product recall and the safe disposal of waste – and provides an industry recognised quality standard in the transportation of medical products for TNT’s Life Sciences customers.

“Every day we deliver 55,000 blood samples, medicines, medical trials and devices to over 16,000 pharmacies and 3,000 hospitals and clinics across France. Naturally, our number one priority is the secure delivery of this delicate cargo and the certification confirms the high standards of safety in place at TNT Express,” continued Raaymakers.

Life Sciences is a key focus market for TNT Express, which delivers 7.5 million clinical and pharmaceutical consignments every year to research institutions, hospitals, clinics and multinational pharmaceutical companies across the world, whilst providing an existing portfolio of express delivery services with superior transit times.
