TNT wins 12 Mln Euro logistics contract from Italian Pininfarina

Dutch mail and logistics group TNT NV signed a 12 mln euro ($14.4 mln) logistics services contract with Italian car design company Pininfarina SpA, TNT said on March 29, 2006.

Under the three-year contract, TNT Logistics’ Italian division will manage spare parts supply and component transportation from more than 100 suppliers to the production sites of the new Alfa Romeo Brera.

More than half of TNT’s Italian logistics unit’s sales come from services to the automotive sector. The unit’s customers include Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Renault.

In December 2005 TNT announced it planned to sell most of its logistics business with annual sales of 3.5 bln euro ($4.202 bln).
