Doddle appoints Bob Black as Deputy Chairman

Doddle has announced that its newly-appointed Deputy Chairman Bob Black, who has extensive experience in the cross border e-commerce, supply chain and logistics sector, is assuming his new role with immediate effect.

Black has over 35 years’ experience in the retail and logistics sectors in the UK, Europe, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. He has held a number of senior roles at TNT including Managing Director Benelux, Managing Director Australia/NZ & Pacific Islands and Chief Operating Officer UK & Ireland.

Prior to joining Doddle, Black spent six years at Australia Post where he was Group Chief Operating Officer, responsible for Australia Post’s Parcels, Letters and International business with annualised revenues of approx. $5.5 billion and a customer base of over 30,000 active accounts. During his time there, Australia Post partnered with Doddle to launch a national network of pick-up and drop-off (PUDO) locations to support online shopping. As part of the arrangement, Doddle provided its PUDO technology to Australia Post’s existing 4,300 post offices and 350 locker locations, and supplemented those locations with a network of thousands of new locations including supermarkets, department stores, pharmacies and petrol stations.

Commenting on his appointment, Bob Black said: “I am excited to continue my involvement with Doddle – this time as part of the team. The work that we did together at Australia Post was a game changer and helped make the online shopping experience seamless, giving customers the flexibility they wanted with the ability to collect and return parcels when and where it suits them. I intend to help other organisations and their customers across the globe reap similar benefits.”
