CitySprint further strengthens its presence in the Northwest

CitySprint – the UK’s same day distribution company and part of DPDgroup – has announced its acquisition of EcoSpeed, the independent and Manchester-based same day courier company.

The deal highlights CitySprint’s ongoing growth strategy, underpinned by the acquisition of strong regional courier businesses.

EcoSpeed has a proud history of supplying urgent courier and transportation services across Manchester and the surrounding areas, having supported local businesses with time-critical deliveries in the region since 2005.

Its service specialism aligns perfectly with CitySprint’s same day expertise, and this move will see CitySprint further strengthen its presence in the Northwest.

The deal will give EcoSpeed’s customers access to CitySprint’s unique national same day delivery network, which can reach over 88% of mainland UK within 60 minutes. Its customers will be able to access CitySprint’s award-winning same day delivery services and its fleet of over 3,500 vehicles.

Gary West, CitySprint CEO, commented: “We are very pleased to have completed this important acquisition, which marks another step in our ongoing growth strategy. EcoSpeed has an excellent reputation in the Northwest, and we’re delighted to welcome their team to the CitySprint family.”

He continued: “Moving forward, it remains very much business as usual for EcoSpeed’s customers. There will be no changes to their current service or account contacts, but they can now enjoy access to our wider courier network and nationwide logistics service offering.”
