Cainiao expands sustainable delivery services in Paris

Urb-it, a rapidly growing sustainable logistics platform, has partnered with Cainiao Network, a global smart logistics company and the logistics arm of the Alibaba Group, to offer new low-carbon delivery options in Paris.

 Urb-it’s e-cargo bike fleet couriers now deliver packages to Cainiao’s self-service customer locker network across the Paris.

Cainiao Network launched its locker service in Paris in September 2021 in order to provide local consumers with more convenience and flexibility. Today the locker network has expanded to hundreds of locations across Paris. Consumers of AliExpress, the global marketplace of the Alibaba Group, are the first to enjoy this new option. Urb-it has partnered with Cainiao Network in Paris since mid-2021 to deliver to AliExpress customers in central Paris sustainably.

Urb-it’s e-cargo bike fleet reduce emissions by 90% and are able to do twice as many delivery stops compared to traditional vans, while reducing congestion and being able to use Paris’ expanding cycling networks to move across the city. Today Urb-it is able to deliver the last mile sustainably to over four million citizens across Paris – and also operates in Lyon, Strasbourg and Bordeaux in France and major cities across the UK and Spain.
