DHL Paket to offer business customers two new shipping options

DHL Paket is offering its business customers the chance to easily send parcel shipments to other EU countries at drop-off points such as parcel vending machines or parcel shops.

All customers have to do is select the new delivery variant “Closest Droppoint”. The specification of a specific delivery point is not required, this is taken over by the respective foreign delivery partner of DHL in the destination country.

Business shippers benefit not only from the easy commissioning, but usually also from a lower price and the certainty that the shipments reach their destination in the first delivery attempt. Initially, this option will only be available for Denmark from 1 September 2022, followed by Austria in November and Belgium, Sweden and Finland from January 2023. In the future, business customers will be able to choose between a “closest droppoint” delivery and a door-to-door delivery. Further European countries are to be added in the following months.

In addition, business customers can book a new service when shipping parcels to countries subject to customs duties. With the “Postal DDP” (Postal Delivered Duty Paid) service, business parcel shippers can pay all import duties for their recipient customers. As a result, end customers do not incur any customs clearance costs that they have to pay for delivery. Business customers, on the other hand, benefit from an accelerated delivery process, as all fees have already been paid by their customers during the ordering process. The service will be bookable for parcel shipping to the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland) from 1 September 2022. Other target countries such as Norway, Iceland and Switzerland are in preparation.
