Spanish Unipost signs alliance agreement with DHL
Spanish private postal services provider Unipost signed a strategic alliance agreement with global express delivery and logistic group DHL, under which Unipost international distribution network will become part of DHL Global Mail, Unipost said on June 21, 2006.
The alliance will allow Unipost to provide delivery services to 200 countries. Unipost international services include business mail, direct marketing, publication distribution and parcel delivery.
The company currently has over 15,000 customers in Spain. It runs 171 offices and employs more than 4,000. DHL is owned by German postal service operator Deutsche Post which became a Unipost shareholder at the end of 2004 and holds a 37.6 pct stake in the Spanish company as well.
