Le Poste Groupe to create €500 million investment fund dedicated to urban logistics

Cities face an increase in flow of incoming and outgoing goods that affects both road traffic and air quality. As a global delivery company, La Poste Groupe is working alongside cities in France and Europe to accelerate the decarbonization of deliveries and deploy a network of logistics locations in city centres.

La Poste Groupe already operates over 100 urban logistics sites in France and is now announcing a new investment of €200 million to strengthen its territorial network of locations.
It is also creating one of the largest investment funds (€500 million) dedicated to urban logistics via its property company La Poste Immobilier, in partnership with the Banque des Territoires.

Its aim is to equip French metropolitan areas and large conurbations with dedicated infrastructure.

➢ 100% decarbonized deliveries (zero and low emissions) in 350 cities across Europe, including the 22 French metropolitan areas, by 2025.
➢ Strengthening the electrification of the La Poste vehicle fleet in France with the acquisition of 8,000 electric vehicles and 1,000 cargo bikes by 2025
➢ Continuing to build partnerships with the 22 French metropolitan areas to create the conditions for low-emissions logistics
➢ Investment of €200 million by 2026 to supplement La Poste Groupe’s urban logistics real estate portfolio in France
➢ Creation, with the Banque des Territoires, of an investment fund dedicated to urban logistics real estate projects, for a total of €500 million by 2026

While the urban model continues to expand (70% of the global population will live in urban areas by 2030, according to worldbank.org), urban logistics has to reconcile the growth in the volumes of goods, the attractiveness of cities and changing patterns of consumption.
