Malaysia's Transmile unit signs cooperation agreement with DHL

KUALA LUMPUR (XFN-ASIA) – Transmile Group Bhd said its wholly-owned subsidiary Transmile Air Services Sdn Bhd has entered into a strategic network alliance deal with DHL International on extending cooperation between the two express cargo operators.

In a statement, Transmile said the long-term network alliance will see both companies cooperating to identify new and lucrative sectors in a high premium market.

DHL and Transmile started operations together in the 1990s and currently cover Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and North America. DHL currently accounts for 30 pct of Transmile’s current revenue.

‘We strongly believe that the alliance will be mutually beneficial to both DHL and us, with the main benefactors being our customers, as it will significantly enhance our value propositions to them,’ chairman Ling Liong Sik said.
