TNT Post bids to entice small firms away from UK Royal Mail
TNT Post is bolstering its attack on Royal Mail’s business customers with a new service designed to save small firms time and money.
The company claims that the PremierSort Flex service will save SMEs up to 20 per cent on mailings. The two-to three-day service will be positioned as a more reliable and cost-effective option than Royal Mail’s standard service.
The service uses technology that can sort variously-sized envelopes. TNT says the scheme will be able to sort mail quicker and more efficiently, reducing the number of unroutable and rejected items.
The sorted mail is then distributed to Royal Mail mail centres for final delivery. PremierSort Flex also boasts flexible collection times.
Nick Wells, chief executive at TNT Post UK, comments: “It is not just the large corporates that are reaping the rewards of competition in the mail market. SMEs in the UK now have the
choice of an alternative modern mailing solution.
“When developing the service, we factored in the elements that would benefit smaller businesses the most.”
The postal market was opened up to full competition against Royal Mail in January.
TNT changed its name in the spring, from TNT Mail to TNT Post, following a global rebranding initiative (PM May 12).
