Deutsche Post to introduce post boxes for packages in Germany – report

Deutsche Post AG plans in September to introduce ‘Paketbox’ post boxes which will allow customers to drop off packages weighing up to 20 kilos, the Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper reported without quoting its sources.

The German mail carrier will launch the project with 40 such boxes.

Deutsche Post’s DHL unit delivers about 100 mln packages in Germany annually, equivalent to a 75 pct market share, the newspaper added.
