DHL strengthens network in India
The best part of the facility, says Chandrasekhar Pitre, head, marketing, DHL Express India, is that from the moment of checking-in till despatch the package need not touch the ground. The conveyor belt system allows for this, adds Pitre.
The facility is equipped with weighing dimensional labelling machine for weighing, radio frequency scanners, powered conveyer belts and other machinery. It has next-generation data scanners for data transfer from anywhere in Bangalore, and access controlled movement among others.
To further enhance its network in South India, DHL, an express and logistics company, has opened its service centre in Bangalore. The 21,000 square feet facility is expected to handle 3,000 inbound and outbound shipments weighing up to 25 tonnes a day. The centre will also monitor 23 routes across South India.
