Skroutz Last Mile improves efficiency with 1,000 SwipBox Infinity lockers

The lockers have been installed to cater to the Greek online consumers, the majority of whom prefer delivery in a parcel locker to home deliveries. Starting with 100 lockers in March 2022, Skroutz Last Mile has now installed 1,000 lockers in Athens alone.

“With the Infinity locker, we don’t have to choose between quality of service and efficiency. We can deliver both,” stated Stefanos Katsimpas, Business Director at Skroutz Last Mile, adding: “Our focus is on providing excellent service when it comes to delivering goods through e-commerce. Things move fast in the world of online shopping, and we need to be adaptable. That’s why we went with the Infinity parcel lockers, which can be installed anywhere in just 10 minutes, allowing us to scale our network when needed. It doesn’t get more flexible than that,” he said.

A major benefit of the SwipBox Infinity solution is the improvement in parcel delivery efficiency, with lockers enabling couriers to benefit from consolidated deliveries such as reducing the number of stops.

“It’s been an extremely exciting and educational process for us to work with a partner that owns the whole customer journey from e-commerce to parcel delivery,” said SwipBox CCO Kasper Cort, adding: “We were excited to see how our lockers would fare in Greece, which is such a different market from the Nordics. What we’ve seen so far is impressive. In fact, with 1,000 lockers installed in one year and with 8 out of 10 customers who have used the locker continuing to do so, the numbers speak for themselves.”

The lockers – named Skroutz Point – can be found in a wide variety of locations in two different colours: orange and black. The latter shows that Skroutz Last Mile’s innovative and agile approach is not limited to their online consumers. It also applies to their location owners, one of whom requested the dark colour in order for the locker to blend into their surroundings.

Having started in Athens, Skroutz Last Mile is now ready to roll out the solution to other cities in Greece.
