Pakistan Post takes over express post work from Shaheen Express

Pakistan Post after assessing the performance of M/S Shaheen Express (Pvt) Ltd. Wednesday decided to take over the Express Post work from the contractor. A press release of Pakistan Post issued here said this decision was taken in view of a large number of complaints from postal clientele and inattention of the contractor to redress their complaints regarding late and non-delivery of Express Post mail and payment of Urgent Money Orders/ Fax Money Orders.

Pakistan Post is now on its own arranging the delivery, payment and transmission of Express Mail in Karachi. The discontinuation of the contractual arrangement and take over by the department has improved the quality of service and reduced public complaints.

After termination of the contract with M/S Shaheen Express (Pvt) Ltd. Staff employed by the said private firm was not retained by Pakistan Post, since they were neither required nor fulfilling the required criteria for recruitment in Government Services under Pakistan Post.

Therefore, the dues and benefits of the employees of M/S Shaheen (Pvt) Ltd. are solely liability of the said private company and Pakistan Post has no obligation in this regard.

The employees of M/S Shaheen Express (Pvt) Ltd. have tried to evoke sympathy through press by involving Pakistan Post for regularization and induction of their services within Pakistan Post, which is incorrect. They were never a part of the Post and have no legal or moral claim. It deemed appropriate to notify and clarify for information of all concerned that Pakistan Post has not ousted any employees of Pakistan Post.
