Nippon Express Malaysia named Best IT/Electronics Logistics Provider by Frost & Sullivan
Nippon Express Malaysia Sdn Bhd has been named Best IT/Electronics Logistics Service Provider in Malaysia by Frost & Sullivan, a global growth consulting company.
The award was conferred to Nippon Express Malaysia recently at the 2006 Frost & Sullivan ASEAN 4 Logistics Awards based on a Voice of the Customer research, which was officiated by Mr. Ko Kheng Hwa, Managing Director of the Singapore Economic Development Board.
Frost & Sullivan Director of Transportation, Asia Pacific Kavan Mukhtyar says Nippon Express has emerged as the winner among the logistics service providers in the Malaysian IT/Electronics sector, as it secured the highest ratings for its service performance and capability from its own customers in the sector.
“Nippon Express has been rated very highly by its customers on performance related to the range of services, industry expertise, and infrastructure. The company has also achieved high ratings from its customers on performance related to consistency of service quality, cost, and complaints handling,” he adds.
Mr. Mukhtyar also says that IT/Electronics industry sector is one of the top 4 revenue contributing industry sectors for Nippon Express, adding that the company offers services for both manufacturers and marketers in this sector, offering innovative solutions and integrated services based on the collaborative planning and rapid transit abilities.
Nippon Express has been credited by its customers for helping them to achieve the “fastest time to market” for their products.
“Nippon Express, with substantial operations in this region has been named as best by Malaysia’s IT/Electronics companies, which have in-bound and outbound logistics needs in Asia and the Pacific Rim. The award is the highest level of achievement possible for any company in the logistics industry,” Mr. Mukhtyar says.
He adds that the award represents the acknowledgement of the Malaysian IT/Electronics sector that the services of Nippon Express are superior to the services offered by other logistics service providers for this sector.
Mr. Mukhtyar adds that an estimated 40 percent of logistics industry revenues are contributed by services to this sector. The Malaysian government has been encouraging the IT/Electronics industry through favorable policies as well as specialized support, which is expected to result in significant growth of this industry sector in the coming years.
He also says that the government’s dedicated improvement of ports and infrastructure related to logistics is also expected to drive the growth of both IT/Electronics industry and the logistics industry alike.
“This would mean that IT/Electronics industry sector would continue to become more attractive and leading revenue contributor for the logistics service providers in Malaysia,” he notes.
Mr. Hideaki Shigematsu, Managing Director at Nippon Express Malaysia says that the freight forwarding business has changed tremendously over the last 6 – 7 years and large companies are merging to monopolize the market.
“This is the Age of Survival. To survive and to have more market share, Nippon Express has transformed itself from a transportation company to a service provider. Key words of this new business are IT and Logistics Solutions,” he adds.
Mr. Shigematsu also says that the award from Frost & Sullivan which recognizes Nippon Express as one of the best logistics provider shows that the company is on the right track.
