DHL: The domestic markets in Germany and Switzerland are important pillars in our European and global network

On July 1, Markus Panhauser will become the new CEO of DHL Global Forwarding in Germany and Switzerland. In his new role, he will assume responsibility for both country organisations.

Panhauser succeeds Tobias Schmidt, who has successfully led the two country organizations since November 2021 in addition to his role as CEO of DHL Global Forwarding Europe. With Barbara Eleota, a successor has already been found for Markus Panhauser in the role of Head of Ocean Freight DHL Global Europe.

With his extensive experience and commitment, he has made a significant contribution to the success of DHL Global Forwarding in Germany and Switzerland and is now handing over two very successful country organizations to his successor.”

Successful development and implementation of processes, structures and products

Markus Panhauser joined the Group in 2020 as Head of Ocean Freight DHL Global Forwarding Europe, having previously gained extensive experience in the freight forwarding business at various global logistics companies. Over the past three years, he has successfully brought the division’s European ocean freight business to a high level of performance and thus made a significant contribution to increasing profitability.

Diverse perspectives, great expertise and proven leadership skills

Barbara Eleota will succeed Markus Panhauser as Head of Ocean Freight DHL Global Forwarding Europe on August 1, 2024.Eleota is moving from DB Schenker to DHL Group and brings over 25 years of experience in the logistics industry to her new role. In the course of her career, she has been particularly successful in trade management with a focus on North America and as Country Ocean Freight Manager in Italy. Eleota will have its office in Hamburg and will report directly to Tobias Schmidt and Casper Ellerbaek, Global Head of Ocean Freight at DHL Global Forwarding.
