Poland Post provides logistical assistance to those affected by the floods

Poczta Polska, in agreement with the local government authorities of Krakow and Warsaw, has announced logistical assistance in the transport of materials and the other necessities to areas affected by the natural disaster.

“We are a natural partner for local government bodies and crisis management teams. In order to coordinate cooperation as best as possible, we have appointed a special representative of the Company for direct contacts in the field of logistic support. We are ready to carry out the transport of goods necessary to help the most needy residents or institutions.” emphasizes Sławomir Żurawski, Vice President of Poczta Polska for Operations and Logistics.

As in the case of natural disasters, pandemics and other exceptional situations that have previously befallen Poland, the Company has launched a number of activities to support affected residents. In order to provide citizens with access to basic official services, since September 17, the Company has launched replacement and mobile postal points for residents of areas affected by or at risk of flooding. It delivers pensions and annuities to residents of flood areas and is involved in, among other things, central and local aid initiatives.

The company is also helping its own employees. Postmen affected by the flood have the opportunity to report needs and requests for financial, material or logistical assistance. A collection of friends has also been launched – Postmen, through the “Pocztowy Dar” Foundation, can donate money for colleagues affected by the flood.
