Pall-Ex: succession planning has been a major focus for the network since 2020

Pall-Ex has announced a major reshuffle of its senior team which will ensure the network is best placed to achieve further growth throughout 2025 and beyond.

The update sees Paul Pegg move from his current role as Operations Director to Managing Director – Pall-Ex Logistics, the network’s warehousing and fulfilment offering and owned locations. Michelle Naylor moves from Commercial Director to Managing Director – UK Networks.

The announcement follows recent confirmation that former Pall-Ex UK Managing Director Barry Byers has been promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO), while current Group CEO Kevin Buchanan will continue to drive the network’s key strategic projects.

The internal promotions further strengthen Pall-Ex Group’s senior leadership team and demonstrate the network’s clear focus on strategic planning to ensure commercial sustainability.

As newly appointed UK MD, Michelle, who joined Pall-Ex in 2020, will work closely with Barry and the wider leadership team to drive innovation that benefits both Pall-Ex, Fortec and its wider shareholder member network.

Michelle says: “It is a real honour to be appointed Managing Director – UK Networks. We have seen consistent growth over the past few years, despite a sometimes-challenging wider economic climate, and we remain focused on further building on that going forwards. We have a lot of exciting updates planned for 2025 which will help us further cement our position as the UK’s leading pallet network for quality, and I am looking forward to sharing more about those in due course.”

Paul, who has been part of the Pall-Ex team since 2018, says: “Since its launch in August 2024, Pall-Ex Logistics has gone from strength to strength, so I am absolutely delighted to have been named Managing Director for the division. It is a truly ground-breaking offering from a pallet network, further broadening the scope and scale of the services we can offer to our customers. Growing Pall-Ex Logistics is something I am deeply passionate about, so I can’t wait to get stuck in.”

Pall-Ex COO Barry Byers adds: “This is a very exciting time for Pall-Ex Group, with a number of key announcements and updates expected across the next few months. Succession planning has been a major focus for the network since 2020, and the promotions for Michelle and Paul are very much a part of that.

“With this new leadership structure in place, we are now even better placed to achieve growth over the coming years as Pall-Ex diversifies to meet the increasing needs of our shareholder members and customers. I have every confidence that Michelle and Paul will thrive in their new roles, and I would like to congratulate them on their well-deserved promotions.”

Further UK appointments will be announced in the coming weeks.
