DHL announces moderate price increase for international parcels

As of July 1, 2025, DHL will moderately increase prices for private customer parcels and parcels abroad. In doing so, the parcel service provider adjusts the parcel prices for the various country zones differently and even more cost-oriented.
In many zones and weight levels, package prices remain stable. In addition, DHL divides the parcels into the same country zones that already exist for parcels. In addition, DHL is planning two new products for private customers: Also on July 1, the parcel service provider will introduce a new parcel weighing up to 2 kg for non-EU shipping, which will be available exclusively online. Until now, such a weight level was only available for parcels within Germany and to the EU. At the same time, DHL is abolishing insurance up to 50 euros for international parcels. In addition, private customers will also be able to use the “Mobile Parcel Stamp” for shipping to countries outside the EU in the future. With the QR code, online franked parcels and parcels can now also be handed in for worldwide shipping in branches, post offices and numerous Packstations without the sender having to print out the shipping label himself. The price advantage of DHL online franking, which amounts to 1.50 or 3.00 euros per shipment for non-EU shipping, will thus also be available for customs destinations in the future.
Other changes: DHL will discontinue the “Premium” service for private customers in international parcel shipping on July 1 due to a lack of demand. In addition, the dispatch of roll-shaped shipments will be somewhat more expensive due to the higher handling effort. There are also adjustments to the savings sets offered online: There will be new savings sets of 10 brands each for the products “Päckchen XS” and “Parcel up to 2 kg” for shipping within the EU. The existing 50 and 100 discount levels, on the other hand, will no longer apply to all products due to low customer demand. However, coupon codes from savings sets purchased until June 30, 2025 will remain valid for three years.
In addition, DHL limits the maximum weight of international parcels to 30 kg, as most receiving countries only accept this maximum weight according to the Universal Postal Convention.
Price changes national
In national shipping, DHL only adjusts the prices for the Pluspäckchen and shipping as a roll.
Increased costs make price adjustments necessary
The reasons for the necessary price adjustments from July are significantly increased wage, transport and delivery costs. For example, the terminal dues of delivery partners abroad have increased within the framework of the regulations of the Universal Postal Union and transport costs have increased, especially for road transport. In addition, there are higher requirements and thus greater effort for handling international shipments that are transported by air. The Federal Network Agency has already approved the price changes. The price adjustments apply only to the Post & Parcel Germany division, not to DHL Express products.
