Austrian Post expands services in Vienna

Österreichische Post AG has opened a new self-service branch at Dittelgasse 5 in Vienna’s 22nd district. This will give more than 4,000 households on the outskirts of Aspern and just above Lobau the opportunity to pick up or send their parcels around the clock.
The location was also equipped with a flexible counter for the first time, which can be manned by an employee during the high season at Christmas time. This also makes it possible to pick up bulky goods parcels that would not find space in a post office. This new concept was presented at the opening of the self-service branch by Ernst Nevrivy, District Manager of Vienna-Donaustadt, and Walter Oblin, CEO of Österreichische Post AG.
Ernst Nevrivy, District Chairman, Vienna-Donaustadt: “As district leader, I am pleased about this expanded range of services offered by Austrian Post, especially about the innovative concept of the flexible counter. I am convinced that many Donaustadt residents will also accept the new service for more convenience when sending and receiving broadcasts.”
Walter Oblin, CEO of Österreichische Post AG: “We see ourselves as an innovation leader, especially when it comes to the convenience of our customers when receiving parcels. In doing so, we not only rely on digital solutions such as the Post App and self-service branches, but also take the human factor into account. I am therefore convinced that the concept of the self-service branch with an additional counter for peak times, which we are implementing here in Donaustadt for the first time, brings together the best of all worlds.”
At Christmas time, a flexible counter for the collection of bulky goods can be staffed. This relieves the surrounding post office locations and increases comfort for all residents of the neighborhood.
