Austrian Post Wins SPAR Contract

Austrian Post Wins SPAR Contract

Die Post Wertlogistik, a wholly owned subsidiary of Austrian Post AG specialising in cash-in-transit, high-security storage, and security services, has won the tender for the complete cash management of SPAR Austria.

The contract includes both the collection of daily takings and the delivery of change to over 850 locations across Austria, encompassing SPAR, EUROSPAR, INTERSPAR, Maximarkt, and independent SPAR retailers.

Hans K. Reisch, CEO of SPAR, stated: “For our cash-in-transit operations, we needed a service provider with the appropriate infrastructure to serve our stores throughout Austria. We were also looking for a partner with highly advanced security services. Post Wertlogistik impressed us.”

Christoph Dörflinger, Managing Director, Post Wertlogistik GmbH: “We prevailed as the attractive bidder with the best overall offer. The SPAR contract represents enormous growth for us; the number of our daily stops will increase by more than a third. To meet this increased responsibility, we are adapting our Austria-wide network, investing in new vehicles, and hiring additional staff. With this step, we are taking over market leadership and are thus the largest cash-in-transit company in Austria.”
