DHL consolidates its presence in the Basque Country with the purchase of Transportes Eganaberri
DHL Iberia, the world leading transport and logistics company , has recently acquired the Egañaberri transport company.
This operation was completed at the end of October and means the Bergara depot’s integration into the DHL group, as the Egañaberri transport company operated in that town under the DHL Express trademark as DHL’s representative in West Gipuzkoa, serving the whole of the Deba Valley.
In this way, the two DHL Express centres covering the province of Guipuzcoa (San Sebastian and Bergara) now belong to the DHL Group.
With this operation, DHL has consolidated and strengthened its presence in the Basque Country, where it recently opened new premises at Bilbao airport and the air hub for Spain, Portugal, South-West France and Noth Africa, in Vitoria.
This is also an important step in the consolidation and integration of DHL’s services in the area, as all DHL Group depots in the region will offer national and international air and ground services.
Transportes Egañaberri S.L. began its activity in Bergara over 30 years ago, firstly as part of Grupo Guipuzcoana, and then as part of DHL Iberia, following the integration of Danzas, DHL International and Guipuzcoana Euro Express, which was completed in 2003.
