Posten Bring: 3,900 households to receive new postal codes

Every year, Posten Bring makes changes to postal codes in Norway, this year areas in Trondheim, Bergen, Hamar and Ås will receive new postal codes.

” This autumn, several places in the country will receive new postal codes. The goal is to ensure that postal distribution is as correct, simple and efficient as possible, while also making logistics easier for all postal and logistics companies in Norway,” says Kenneth Tjønndal Pettersen, Communications Director at Posten Bring.

In total, approximately 3,900 households and approximately 300 businesses are affected by the change, which will apply from October 1.

The postal code system is regulated by the Norwegian Communications Authority, but is operated by Posten Bring as a common infrastructure for the entire logistics industry in Norway.

Everyone affected by the changes will be notified. From October 1, new postal codes will be available on Posten’s address and postal code search.

Posten Bring will continue to deliver to the old postal code during a transition period.

“We encourage those who receive a new postal code to inform their contacts about the change. We will still deliver packages and letters with the old postal code, but over time, the wrong address will delay the mail and incorrectly addressed mail may be returned,” Pettersen concludes.
