Israel Post handles 8 to 10 million parcels a month
PickPack has published the first Israel Delivery Cost Index, a free research report built from 41 public sources.
The Index covers what it costs to move a parcel from the warehouse to the customer’s door in Israel, what got more expensive in the past year, and what that does to cost per drop: Israel Post tariffs, retailer delivery fees, fuel, wages, vehicles and insurance, in one place, with a source for every number.
Headline numbers, September 2026:
– An Israel Post door-to-door courier delivery costs a subscriber 74.34 shekels at low volume and 29.50 shekels above 500 items a month. The lower tiers rose 8.6% to 10% since October 2025.
– Israel Post handles 8 to 10 million parcels a month, close to 50% more than a year earlier.
– 95-octane petrol is up 15.2% year on year and the minimum wage rose 3.1%.
– Our cost model puts a typical suburban drop at about 32.5 shekels, and a rural drop at almost twice that.
– Going from 6 to 8 stops an hour with 13% fewer kilometres cuts cost per drop by about 17%.
PickPack CEO, Meir Rokni commented: “Fuel and wages are set outside the business. Stops per hour, kilometres per drop and the failed-delivery rate are set inside it, and that is where the savings are. In our model, moving from six to eight stops an hour with 13% fewer kilometres cuts cost per drop by about 17%. That matters more than any single tariff change this year.”
