UPS increases international delivery options

UPS has expanded its service offering in the United Arab Emirates, enabling customers to select from two different options for the daily, time-definite delivery of packages between international trading markets.

‘The new services redefine UPS’s commitment to customers in the UAE, offering them greater flexibility and choice to excel in a competitive business environment,’ said John Tansey, UAE country manager, UPS. ‘The two delivery options will enable companies to manage their shipments to and from UAE effortlessly, with greater control and peace-of mind.’

Both services took effect in the UAE last month and should expand delivery options on routes between the United States and Asia, Europe and the Americas. The first option, UPS Worldwide Express, guarantees delivery by 10.30am or 12pm, depending on the destination. The second option, UPS Worldwide Saver, guarantees delivery by the end of the business day.

‘This latest expansion of service options redefines industry standards for delivery between the US and other leading economic centres around the world,h said Kurt Kuehn, UPS senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing. ‘This change to UPS’s international portfolio, combined with our industry-leading technology, gives our importers and exporters more flexibility and greater precision to help them manage today’s just-in-time supply chain models.’

Each of the services will be supported by Quantum View visibility technology, which provides customers status of their shipments anywhere in the world and also sends them proactive alerts if shipments do not arrive by their committed delivery deadline due to customs holds, weather delays or for any other reason.
