TNT appoints Onno Boots as South East Asia’s Regional Managing Director

TNT Express, one of the world’s leading express delivery companies, has appointed Onno Boots as South East Asia’s Regional Managing Director. In this function he will report directly to James McCormac, Chief Operating Officer of TNT Express. His appointment marks TNT’s continued commitment to South East Asia and plans for further expansion in the region.

Marie-Christine Lombard, Group Managing Director of TNT Express, said, “One of TNT Express’ global strategic intent is to be number one in emerging markets. South East Asia is the fastest growing region in the world and presents a wealth of opportunities. Onno was the obvious choice for this role because in his position as Director of Global Account Management for the group, he was instrumental in helping TNT’s biggest global customers strategise their supply chain needs across continents with a clear understanding of vertical industries and the foresight to implement growth strategies.”

Prior to his appointment, Onno served as Director of Global Account Management (Worldwide) in Amsterdam. He has served TNT for 18 years in the company’s divisional headquarters in the Netherlands. Onno will be based at the TNT Asia regional office in Singapore, with 2,771 employees across the region under his charge.

“Apart from benefiting from the overall strong growth of the Asian economies, we seek to maximize our growth by focussing particularly on core industries such as the Life Science, High Tech, Electronics and Industrial sectors. To enhance our service offering, we’ve focused on growing our core network, including launching Asia’s first Road Network, and delivering bespoke, specialised solutions,” said Onno Boots.

“The focus going forward is to deliver a robust growth strategy which will further consolidate the business progress to date but deliver a framework to fast track growth, particularly in intra-Asian and domestic express businesses. This will strengthen the region’s connectivity to TNT’s extensive network in Europe, thereby enhancing the competitiveness and accessibility of our customers to reach other international markets,” he added.
