TAG Transport joins PalletFORCE

Croydon-based transport company TAG Transport Services has joined PalletFORCE, one of the country’s fastest growing palletised distribution networks, in the long-term interests of the company and its customers.

Although it has been operating since October 2001, TAG’s directors can boast of a collective experience of over forty years in the road haulage business. The company has extensive links to the newspaper industry and transports in excess of 600 tonnes of free and national newspapers every week.

With clients across the UK, and TAG looking to diversify its business into other areas, joining a palletised distribution network was the logical move. PalletFORCE was chosen following recommendations from two Member Depots with whom TAG already has close links.

“When a network receives nothing but praise from professionals you have respect for, it makes sense to listen!” comments Geoff Phipps of TAG. “PalletFORCE share our values and, because of the Network’s shareholder-owned structure, we believe those values are shared by all Member Depots.”

TAG has been recruited as a Shareholder Member Depot for the KT postcode.

The company operates a modern fleet of twenty vehicles, ranging from 7.5 tonne to 44 tonne artic lorries, plus transits and Astravans for smaller loads.

Palletised distribution has been a major growth area in road haulage over the last decade, offering a cost-effective solution to the quick delivery of small palletised consignments.

PalletFORCE is one of the leading palletised distribution networks in the UK and mainland Europe. With over 90 strategically-located depots around the country and a 210,000 sq. ft. central hub in Lichfield Staffordshire, the PalletFORCE network offers significant efficiency savings. Each member depot delivers goods originating from its operational area to the central hub. They then collect goods for delivery to their home area for the return load – a streamlined process which offers a more competitive, cost effective service for both members and customers, whilst substantially reducing environmental impact.
