FedEx eyes Oregon for distribution hub
FedEx Corporation reportedly is eyeing Oregon as the site for a Northwest distribution hub.
The Oregonian newspaper is quoting local officials as saying the Memphis-based company is considering the former Alcoa-Reynolds Metals site north of the Troutdale airport to become one of nine regional distribution centers.
FedEx held a pre-application meeting with the city in late April and plans to submit its formal request in June or July. According to FedEx pre-application documents, the company plans to employ 765 people in the initial phase of development.
