Online Shipment Tracking via Windows Live Messenger by DHL

DHL announced a launch of ‘DHL Track via Windows Live Messenger’, an innovative online service that allows tracking of shipments through Thailand’s most popular instant message (IM) service.

The new initiative was developed by DHL Express Thailand in cooperation with MSN Thailand to provide increased accessibility, flexibility and ease of use for DHL customers in Thailand.

Herbert Vongpusanachai, Managing Director, DHL Express – Indochina, said with the launch of the DHL Track via Windows Live Messenger service, customers will be able to keep track of their shipments even when they are chatting on MSN.

As of May 2007, Microsoft has more than 3.1 million unique Windows Live Messenger users in Thailand.

This new online initiative adds to the existing DHL customer touch points which include telephone, website and visiting service centers throughout Thailand. To access ‘DHL Track via Windows Live Messenger’, customers simply need to log on to Windows Live Messenger with their username and password. If they are new users, they can download the program from http://th.msn.com/. Alternatively, customers can connect via GPRS from their mobile phones or Personal digital assistants (PDAs) at http://www.dhl.msnthpartner.com. The service is exclusively available for Windows Live users who set their location to Thailand in their MSN Account Profile.

The DHL logo will be permanently visible on MSN Windows Live Messenger, and when customers click on the DHL tab at the MSN Messenger Window on their left tool bar, they will enter a DHL micro site. Current and new customers can now easily access DHL from their computers, mobile phones and PDAs to track their shipments and interact with DHL services that include finding DHL SERVICEPOINT locations, booking parcel pick-up, track & trace, currency converter, as well as various other DHL services.
