Pall-Ex Managing Director Named Entrepreneur of the Year, by Ernst and Young
Hilary Devey, Founder and Managing Director of Pall-Ex, has achieved further recognition for her company in a prestigious awards ceremony.
Named as Entrepreneur of the Year for Business Services in the Southern Regional heat, Hilary was delighted to receive the award for her extraordinary abilities. Organized by Ernst and Young, there was some serious cross industry competition for the much coveted award, including entrepreneurs from the manufacturing, securities and engineering industries.
Judges were impressed with Hilary’s determination to succeed, which had an enormous impact on her personal life during the formation of the company. Starting a company single-handedly, from re-mortgaging her own house to raise start up capital, and lobbying local council for the right to trade was no easy task, but this hard work established the nationwide business she now leads.
With 10 years’ business success, Pall-Ex specializes in collection and delivery of small consignments of palletized freight, by integrating work for retained corporate accounts with collections and deliveries from the 100 strong Pall-Ex network of haulage companies. The liaison and co-ordination Pall-Ex provides reduces transportation inefficiencies, boosting members’ profits, whilst allowing greater excellence in service levels and flexible delivery options for end customers through economies of scale. This relationship not only strengthens the UK economy, but also significantly reduces the carbon footprint for all distribution agents within the network, by maximizing vehicle fill.
This is an amazing achievement alone, and yet could lead to future awards too. The winners of these regional heats go through to a national final in October in London.
