Palletline: Wayne takes helm at London hub

Wayne Walsh is the new General Manager at the London hub of Palletline, the UK’s most experienced pallet distribution network.

The role is a dual one, with responsibility for overnight operations at Palletline’s London hub at Greenford, through which more than 1000 pallets pass each night, and the Palletline depot on the same site. This depot serves the EN 1-5, N 1-22, W 1-2, 8-11 and 14, WC, and SW1, 3, 5-7 and 10 postcode areas.

Wayne joins Palletline after more than two decades in the distribution sector. His earlier career was spent in local overnight and same day parcel deliveries, before joining Select Distribution in Watford where he was a director. After Select was acquired by Peter James Transport, Wayne set up and managed a London delivery depot for Peter James, before joining Fast Track where he was manager of their Slough depot and general manager of the Hemel Hempstead franchised operation.

He later joined Express Despatch where he worked as a centre manager and then regional manager, before taking on a consultancy role for an online distribution company. Most recently Wayne worked as regional sales manager for a leading online building supplies company.

Wayne, who lives in Birmingham but hails originally from Hayes in Middlesex, commented: “I’m very much looking forward to continuing the tradition of outstanding delivery services provided by the Palletline network and its London hub.

“There is considerable growth potential for Palletline in the London area and my role will be to ensure that Palletline continues to achieve exceptional service and so grows its operations in the capital, in particular the amount of pallets put into the network by London-based companies for transportation nationwide.”
