La Poste wants to make DPD Europe's number two

La Poste, the French postal services company, plans to become the second
largest parcel delivery company in Europe following its acquisition of 85
per cent of Deutsche Paket Dienst GmbH (DPD), the German parcel delivery
company. La Poste aims to expand in Germany and has founded a new parent
company for DPD, Geo Post, in Aschaffenburg. However, the German cartel
office has not yet approved the plans, but a decision is expected in the
next two months.
La Poste and DPD have a market share of 10 per cent in Europe and the two
form the main competitor of Deutsche Post in Germany.
Deutsche Post is European market leader, with a 22 per cent market share.
TPG of the Netherlands is in second place with 11 per cent.
