DHL denies planning U.S. expansion

The road-based delivery services of DHL Worldwide Express are not going to
be widened on a major scale solely within the US. The American-based mail
and parcel delivery service stated in the week commencing 12 March 2001
that the planned expansion of the company’s operations in 2001 is for
deliveries which cross the US border. Both the Federal Express
Corporation (FedEx) and the United Parcel Service have complained to the US Department of Transportation about the operations of DHL Worldwide Express following its control by Deutsche Post in Germany. DHL International has the DHL Airways affiliate in the US market. DHL International’s worldwide
operating name is DHL Worldwide Express
