DPD in Russia continues to grow

The opening of a new depot in Belgorod a few days ago marks a further significant stage in the ongoing expansion of DPD in Russia. The branch in Belgorod is DPD in Russia’s 32nd.

This follows the successful launch at the end of 2008 of a new time-specific express service, which is tailored to customer requirements. The company’s commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed, and a few weeks ago DPD in Russia was awarded the accolade of “Company of the Year 2008” in the Transportation and Forwarding Services section.

To reinforce its presence in central Russia even further DPD in Russia has opened a new depot in Belgorod, which started to operate on 26 January 2009. With its population of 350,000 Belgorod is strategically located on the junction of highways from the north to the south and from the east to the west of Russia. More than 5,000 parcels a day can be processed at the depot on an area of over 520 m2.

Customers in Belgorod will also soon be able to take advantage of the DPD 13:00 service, which has been available country-wide since the end of last year. Well over 100 routes within Russia are served by DPD 13:00, ranging from the European section of the country right across to the Far East. In most areas delivery is effected by 13.00 hrs the following working day, with delivery by 13.00 hrs on the next working day but one available on some extremely long routes. As part of the new service DPD in Russia is offering its customers extensive financial guarantees, including a money-back guarantee if delivery is not made on time. “We’re pleased that all our customers can now benefit from the advantages of our new service, and we intend to continue with the expansion of our product spectrum and logistics solutions within Russia”, comments Nikolay Voinov, General Director of DPD in Russia.

These efforts and the positive development of DPD in Russia have now been crowned with the award a few weeks ago of the “Company of the Year 2008” prize in the “Contribution to Industry Progress (Transportation and Forwarding Services)” special nomination. This prize, which is presented by leading media and internet company RBC Information Systems, is Russia’s premier business award.
