Some 300 new UPS delivery trucks powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) have hit the road in seven cities in the states of Colorado, Georgia, Oklahoma and California.

The new CNG trucks have been deployed to Denver (43); Atlanta (46); and Oklahoma City (100). They also are now in use in four cities in California: Sacramento (21), San Ramon (63), Los Angeles (nine) and Ontario (18).

UPS already operates the largest private fleet of alternative fuel vehicles in its industry at 1,819, and already uses 800 CNG vehicles around the world.

The CNG trucks look just like the signature-brown UPS trucks, but they are expected to cut emissions by 20% over the cleanest diesel engines available in the market today.
