TNT buys Getronics business

TNT Post subsidiary Cendris Document Presentment BV is buying Getronics’ Dutch-based Document Services whose business will be transferred to TNT Post Billing & Document Solutions.

TNT Post subsidiary Cendris Document Presentment BV is buying Getronics’ Dutch-based Document Services whose business will be transferred to TNT Post Billing & Document Solutions.

The acquisition fits into TNT’s core activities in billing and document solutions.

Strengthening TNT’s position in the print market, the acquisition opens up opportunities for TNT to extend its e-billing activities to a wider range of clients.

TNT Billing & Document Solutions offers solutions in processing transaction mailings such as print, e-billing, digital invoicing and so-called scanmail.

The sale of Document Services fits the strategy Getronics announced last February. It’s focusing on providing standardised ICT services in the world where telecommunications and IT merge.

It traffics in workspace management, data centres, hosting services and consulting services. Document Services’ print and mail services no longer fit this strategy. The transaction is expected to close early this year.

Financial details haven’t been disclosed.
