APC Overnight appoints Ivor Skinner to interim MD as Quentin Abel resigns

APC Overnight has announced that Ivor Skinner, a serving member of the board of directors, will take on the position of acting Managing Director following the resignation of Quentin Abel.

Abel led the organisation since 1994 through extensive change and development and pushed forward the expansion of the company, APC Overnight said in a statement. He is giving up his post as MD to concentrate on his own business, APC Manchester Ltd, and other business ventures. However, Abel will remain on the board with responsibilities including finance and Chairman of the APC Board.

Skinner has been on the APC Overnight main board since 1999. He currently holds the positions of Director of Administration and Company Secretary and has a clear view of the company and its aims. With his knowledge of the company’s operations and his rounded experience of a wide range of industries, Skinner will provide continuous support to the senior management team, while the organisation seeks a suitable candidate to take on the post of permanent MD.

APC Overnight will recruit the new full time Managing Director from outside the network, bringing additional insight and knowledge to the company. This will add further strength to the management team, helping move the company forward with its ambitious expansion plans, APC Overnight added.

The company now has the largest UK network with 125 depots.
