Profit and turnover up at Tuffnells

Tuffnells Parcels Express has posted an increase in profit and turnover despite what it terms the “continuing competitive pressure” in the parcel delivery industry. Operating profit at the company rose to £7.6m in the 12 months to December 2007, from £5.8m in 2006. Pre-tax profit increased to £7.2m last year, compared with £5.2m in the previous 12-month period.

Turnover went up to £94.9m in 2007 from £84m in 2006. The financial statement from the company says: “The key risk for the company is the continuing competitive pressure within the parcel delivery sector.”The company manages this risk by striving to maintain and improve the quality of the service offered to its customers within a competitive price background.”
