The £10 it sent Sylvia Boone for the late arrival of three Motherís Day
cards dropped through her letter box the next day. It is a nice gesture, but one I doubt it could repeat for every victim judging
by the number of complaints Iím receiving. Mrs Jan Edermaniger of Paignton for example, cites four cases including her
daughterís card which arrived not only three days late but was delivered next
door. The Royal Mail suggests Mrs Boone buys something to compensate her three
family members which means she can spend £3.33 on each. She is stumped as to what to get them and all I can suggest is a pack of cards
so they can play patience while waiting for next yearís cards toarriveHERALD EXPRESS, 10th April 2001
