Bronczek elected chairman of IATA

FedEx Express president and CEO David J. Bronczek will serve as the next chairman of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Board of Governors.

FedEx Express president and CEO David J. Bronczek will serve as the next chairman of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Board of Governors.

The announcement was made at IATA’s 65th annual meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As chairman-elect, Bronczek will continue to serve on the board’s chair committee and its strategy and policy committee.

Bronczek has been with FedEx for 33 years. He worked his way up from front-line operations and has worked in sales, domestic operations and international operations. He was named FedEx Express’ CEO in February 2000.

IATA is an international trade group formed in 1945 by 57 airlines from 31 countries. Its mission is to promote safe, reliable, secure and economical air services for consumers. The group now has 230 airlines that comprises 93% of scheduled air traffic.
