Neopost ID has launched an online shipping service for Australia Post called Click and Send.

Business or individual Internet users can now ship and track parcels internationally.

“Click and Send makes international shipping procedures as simple as possible for customers, while also speeding them up,” explained Alain Férard, CEO of Neopost ID.

“Senders can register, pay for and track their parcels right across the globe, using the Internet, without leaving their armchair,” said Alexis Susser, business solution engineer, in charge of the Australia Post project.

Anyone with Internet access, can access this shipping service by connecting to http://clickandsend.com.au. Selections of delivery options are available depending on the nature of the goods and the degree of urgency. Senders can choose whether they wish to have their item picked up by courier, or can simply drop it off at a post office. Same-day or next-day courier service options are available.

Registered Click and Send users can access an address book where several thousand addresses can be managed, and can also access customised shipment reports and have these sent to several email address on a regular basis.

Jonathan Gaynor, customer solutions manager at Australia Post said: “For our customers, it’s a new, innovative system, but very easy to use. It is supported by the most up-to-date technologies and is fully upgradeable.” The system also provides back-office benefits: “The service is fully integrated with our IT systems. Customer requests are dispatched automatically to our various departments: billing, production, customer management, etc.”

Six million items are sent abroad by Australia Post every year, and an increasing number of these are being sent via Click and Send (the system is able to manage several hundred thousands shipments a day).

It is claimed that Click and Send will help Australia Post to be a more relevant provider to the B2B and B2C markets, particularly the expanding online business segment.
