James F. Thomas Jr., 19, and Shawn M. Scott, 17, were each charged with one count each of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and attempted armed robbery with a firearm, according to police News Affairs.
Thomas and Scott are accused of shooting and robbing a UPS driver.
Thomas and Scott allegedly approached the driver and telling him to drive away with them in the truck. The 28-year-old driver refused, exited the truck and attempted to run away, but one of the men allegedly shot him in the back as he fled, according to a report from police News Affairs.
Fire Media Affairs spokesman Quention Curtis said the man was initially taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition.
