TNT Hungary 2000 Sales Rose 55.6%

“The Hungarian unit of TNT Post Group NV (TPG), the Dutch postal, express and logistics company, said on Thursday 2000 net sales rose 55.6 percent year-on-year to 4.2 billion forints ($14.39 million). TNT Express Worldwide Hungary Kft did not provide earnings figures or expected revenues.” Marton Jarosi, CEO of TNT Hungary, stated, “[T]he Hungarian express freight market expanded by some 20-25 percent in 2000 and was expected to grow by a further 10-15 percent this year.” Reuters: “The Hungarian subsidiary of U.S. freight carrier DHL Worldwide Express also claims to be a market leader in Hungary. DHL Magyarorszag Kft said last week revenues totalled 3.415 billion forints last year, which it expected to boost to four billion in 2001, and that its share of the Hungarian market stood at 42 percent.”
