UPS $9m relief pledge

UPS announced a multi-year, $9m project to help relief organisations respond better to global emergencies. The deal was announced at former President Bill Clinton Global Initiative’s annual meeting on 24 September.

The effort by the company and The UPS Foundation includes in-kind logistics expertise and cash grants to groups like the American Red Cross, UNICEF and CARE.

“If UPS can impact even a small percentage of [the] disasters that are happening daily somewhere around the world, this initiative will have been a success,” said Ken Sternad, president of The UPS Foundation.
